Funds Raised Land purchased and paid off in 1990’s Additional funds raised before April 2007: $272,000 Funds raised between April 2007 – January 2008: $168,500 Past Fund Raising Events 2008-01-07 Ramadan Iftar – Sept. 29, 2007 Alhamdullilah! The first fund-raising Ramadan Iftar on Sept 29th at the Lincoln Center in Ft. Collins was a rousing success. Over 200 people listened to presentations by featured speaker Imam Mahdi Bray, Br. Matt, and Dr. Siddiqui, dined on delicious Afghan cuisine, and took the opportunity to donate to the New Masjid Project. Almost $37,000 was collected that evening and another $49,000 was pledged. A big thank you to all of the hard work by the MSA planning committee and the 21 young volunteers who worked that evening. NMC booth at ISNA conference – Aug. 30- Sept. 2, 2007 Over the Labor Day weekend, a NMC team raised funds at the annual ISNA convention in Chicago, IL. As a result of the hard work of many people, the team raised approximately $10,000 and passed out more than 1,800 brochures. Additional donations attached to the brochures handed out are already flowing in to Ft. Collins. Another benefit is that now people all over the country know about our community and our desire to build a new masjid. NMC Booth at MAS-Colorado Convention The New Masjid Committee (NMC) set up an informational booth at the recent annual state convention of the Muslim-American Society in Denver. Our purpose was to raise awareness of our project and generate excitement. Almost 400 Colorado Muslims attended the event. We passed out hundreds of brochures and received an overwhelmingly positive response to our project plans. Insh’Allah, Coloradoans will come together and support one another in our efforts to build and strengthen the Colorado Muslim community.
